I am applying for syndicate bank in that they gave this description for the visually hadicapped.
Blindness or low vision-
a) “Blindness” refers to a condition where a Person suffers from any of the following conditions:
(i) Total absence of sight (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses, (iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse.
b) “Persons with low vision” means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. My eye sight is -6 for both eyes . Am i eligible for the visually hadicapped? and i' m from india.?
Call your eye doctor and ask what your vision is with your glasses on. If you can see better than 20/200 with your glasses on, you are not handicapped.
Knowing your glasses prescription doesn't provide any information about how well you see with them. My guess is that you see 20/20 with your glasses, if you were visually handicapped you would know as you would be unable to do many tasks. My eye sight is -6 for both eyes . Am i eligible for the visually hadicapped? and i' m from india.?
If you are seeing well with glasses or contacts on...you don't qualify.
